Dawood Azami – Winner of the BBC Best Award 

Mr. Dawood Azami won the Global Reith Award in the category of “ outstanding contribution” last week at the celebrattion of the winning of the best award (the BBC Global Reith Award for “Outstanding Contribution) On Wednesday 11 March, at BAFTA in central London .

Director of the BBC Global News Division, Richard Sambrook, presented the outstanding contribution award to senior producer Dawood Azami. He introduced him in the following words.

“The winner of the Outstanding Contribution Award is a journalist who embodies all of the best values of the BBC and the Global News.

He has worked across the whole of the Division, including the World Service, World News Television, and the World Service Trust; as well as other areas of the BBC journalism.

He has taken on a number of responsibilities beyond his editorial remit and he has been an inspiration to audiences thorugh his original approach and enthusiasm when tackling controversial issues, successfully showcasing his cutting edge content across all platforms — TV, Radio and Online. And his courageous investigative journalism has made a real impact on our audiences around the world.
