This letter is in response to the editorial written by The English daily,Frontier Post, Publishes from Peshawar, on Sep.16 under the caption,Durand line,
It was suggested by editorial that Durand line should be resolved between Afghanistan and Pakistan and international community was advised to force Afghan Government to recognise this artificial line as permanent International border.
Yes!We Pashtun/Afghans also want it to be resolved but not like on the wish of the paper.Pashtun/Afghans living both sides of the Durand line want re-unification.We are of the firm opinion that Afghan territory is stretched from Oxus river up to Indus river which is called Pashtun/Afghan land.Only this solution is accepted and the rest will be foiled like we have foiled in the past.Because we know that other solutions are incomplete and are unable to solve the crises in region.Rather incomplete suggestions will add fuel to fire and the problem will further aggravate.
As for as Referendum of 1947 is concerned ,it was really a sham referendum and the real party Khudai Khidmatgars did not participate in it as there was no third option mentioned and the poor people were misguided on the name of Indian enemity and muslim religious brotherhood which was wrong.Each Muslimlegee cast more that 200 hundreds votes in the favour of Pakistan.We understand it that international community is really interested to minimese the problems in this region of Pashtun.For this purpose they will have to help Pashtun/Afghans bringing them close rather further taking them away.21st is the century of re-union of the divided Nations.After demolishing of the Berlin wall,the experience of keeping Nations separated has failed.When Germans can demolish the Berlin wall, then what will face Pashtun/Afghans to cross the imiginary line for the prosperity and development of region and prevailing of peace.
Long live re-union of Pashtun/Afghan Nation
