The varieties of land mines are one of those evil-inventions which swallow and shatter hundreds of human’s life daily throughout the world.
We can picturize from below tragedies how the Afghans are still victims of Afghan-Russia war remnants:
On 12th May 2014, I met one of my friends, during the meeting I told him that I tried to reach him via his phone contact few days before, but I couldn’t. He replied that he had gone to Panjwayi district of Kandahar province to attend one of his relative’s funeral-rite. I asked him for additional details and in response he further stated as below:
“My relative, Mohammad Usman – 22 years old was originally from Panezo village, Zhali district of Kandahar province, the long-lasting war compelled him and his family to flee and settle down in the Panjwayi District – Capital of Kandahar province. He got married two years before and had a one year old son. He was living in a joint family with his old parents, two brothers and sisters.
The wedding of his affianced sister was contrived to take place on 24th April 2014. Mohammad Usman started preparations to get ready everything organized for his sister’s wedding ceremony. One of the preparations was to camp out via set up of a tent where the guests would be served by wedding special food. On 22nd April 2014 he started tent set-up, and for this he had to install and fix few wooden-beams, he started digging of a hole for fixing of wooden-beams, after few hacking of pick he just hit an Anti-Tank mine which was the Afghan-Russia war remnant. The human fierce hidden enemy – land mine explosion sealed his life’s file forever, the potential explosion scattered his body pieces and just few pieces of his body were found in the houses of adjacent neighbors. Subsequently, the wedding ceremony of his sister ruined with blood of an innocent brother and had descended aching monsters upon old parents and innocent and war-affected family.”
IT IS REALLY PATHETIC IF LOOKED ONCE LITTLE BIT DEEP INSIGHT.
Another Tragedy:
One of my friends is working at one of the clinics which provides Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS), the clinic is situated in Mirwais Mina area of Kandahar city. On 16th February 2014 at 11:30AM I received my friend’s phone call notifying regarding a tremendous explosion inside the clinic; I was asked for immediate aid; I had rushed out horridly and fearfully.
After reaching to the scene, mercifully I got my friend unhurt and terrified but unfortunately in fact a Watchman was the victim and had farewelled the world forever. My friend elucidated to me the incidence as below:
“Mr.Latif was working as Watchman in the clinic, he was 28 years old and was the father of three children, he was very poor. The clinic has a small space for gardening, the Watchman was fond of taking care of flowers, a part of this space was unleveled, today morning he started land leveling via shovel for planting more flowers. Soon he hit an Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) – remnant of Afghan-Russia war. The power of explosion scattered his body organs around the clinic and outside of the clinic. He was trying to revive the environment by sowing more plants but he didn’t know that his soul would fade away by resignation from his body forever.”
Conclusions:
The Humanitarian Aid agencies are requested to focus more on educating Afghans on how to live safely while living in the areas contaminated with war remnants as such remnants are still confronting Afghan’s ordinary life.
Investing more on cleaning of the areas contaminated with Afghan-Russia war remnants as well as rehabilitating the mine survivals psychologically, clinically, physically and financially.
The scientists are requested to not utilize their brain power as evil-power to invent human disastrous armaments such as atomic bomb, explosive materials, land-mines, etc…
The factory workers who produce human disastrous entities must rethink to quit such evil-jobs
The citizens paying tax to their governments, they must know that their taxes are paid for the production of such destructive materials and shading of human’s innocent blood, because in today’s world it is obvious and we hear daily the misuse of modern weapons.
The Afghan local non-governmental organizations and civil societies are not financially strong and stable. The donors are requested to allocate some specific amount in projects budget for the purpose to pay to contracted employees who face such incidence during employment. Meanwhile requesting the Afghan Ministry of Social Affairs to produce a perfect Labour law and insist for its logo and recall all organizations across the Afghanistan working in humanitarian sectors for the adoption and implementation of such law.
The civil societies, welfare organizations, human rights activists, UN agencies, scholars, religious front-runners, boasting politicians etc… are requested to raise their voices and unify their efforts for banning such disastrous weapons and replacement of modern world weapons into classic weapons such as arrow, bow, sword, javelin, etc… if they really care of peace and human safety.
Is it not shame for most of today’s notorious politicians who appear on the stage as actors/actress for protecting of human rights and human life but in fact they go behind the stage to keeping the war continued in a specific and complicated manner, investing more on modern weapons just to earn more and dominate……
