A completely shutter-down was observed here in Zhob against growing incidents of dacoity, robbery and theft, long hours of load shedding and price hike on the appeal of All Parties Action Committee. Which was also supported by Adda Union, Trade Union, Transport Union and Hotel Union.
All business centers and markets on Masjid road, Kandahari bazaar, Market road, Cantt road, Sharbat Khan road and Jail road were remained closed during shutter-down strike throughout the day. The traffic plying on the roads of the city was also thin as compared to normal days. A severe anger prevailed among the people against the administration.
A protest demonstration also taken out from Markazi Jama masque. The protesters led by President Anjuman-e-Tajiran Haji Juma Rahim were chanting slogans against the police for their failure to check the crimes. The protest rally turned into a public meeting after passing through various roads of the city.
Addressing the protesters Haji Juma Rahim, Baran Khan Kaliwal, Nawaz Khan, Abdul Rashid Sial, Hafiz Hazrat Gul, Maulana Mula Dad, Abdul Qayum Advocate, Ubaidullah Mardanzai and Baloch Khan Kibzai said that the mounting incidents on of dacoities and robberies have become routine on Zhob-Dera Ismail Khan and Zhob-Quetta highways. But the administration has turned deaf ear towards the deteriorated situation of law and order in the area. They went on to say that extreme anxiety exists among the residents of the area due to the deteriorated situation of the law and order. They alleged that they had submitted complaints to administration but to no avail. The speakers also condemned the closure of work on Zhob-Killa Saifullah and Zhob-Mir Ali Khail highways.
The government should bring all the anti social elements involved in grave crimes to justice to ensure law and order situation in the area. They demanded.
It is to be mentioned that All Parties Action Committee has given wheel-jam strike on Jan 1st and a Tribal Jirga would also held in near future.
