Malik Muhammad Yar Khan Mandokhail.
ZHOB:
“Balochistan is the province of two nations Baloch and Pashtoons, and they are settled on their historical homeland for centuries. There is a dire need for the Pashtoons to follow the golden principles of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan.
Pashtoons should forge unity among their ranks. So that the challenges they faced could be addressed”.
These views were expressed by Central Leader of Awami National Party Malik Sheikh Muhammad Yar Khan Mandokhail, while talking to journalists the other day. He said “Pashtoons have equal rights in the province. But unfortunately they are deprived of all rights and they are leading a backward life in the era of Science of Technology”.
He regretted that the Pashtoon children were still deprived of the basic amenities of life when the world was preparing to enter into the 21st century. Pashtoon areas were rich in natural resources, but the control on the resources was in the hands of others. Terrorism and extremism have been imposed on them, which have destroyed the infrastructure of life”. He deplored.
He further said “As the followers of Khudai-e-Khidmatgar, we want peace, harmony, development and progress in the country. Killing of Pashtoons in Karachi and Quetta is condemnable act”. He added.
He further said that they gained their identity after six decades in the country.
“Our struggle is for the rights of Pashtoons. We could not be frightened through death and we are ready to render more sacrifices for the Pashtoon rights”.
He maintained that Awami National Party had always struggled for the welfare of masses and had never struggled for the sake power but the cause of downtrodden sections of the society. Bacha Khan and Wali Khan spent their precious lives in prisons to uphold the flag of democratic system in the country. “There is a dire need for the Pashtoons to follow the golden principles of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan”. He added.
He stressed the Pashtoons to forge unity among their ranks. So that the challenges they faced could be addressed.
Replying to a question he said that Sanitation and hygienic conditions were worsening day by day in Zhob. And it was extremely deplorable. The drains were filled with dirt, whereas over flow of the drains made it difficult for the pedestrians to walk. Garbage scattered every where in the streets of Zhob. Due to over flow drains were spreading a filthy smell but no one was there to take notice of those problems.
Besides district Zhob, Sherani was also deprived of all basic amenities of life. Sherani was comprising 7 union councils and covering about 5000 sq kilometers of area. But presented a look of ruined places. “People come from Sherani to Zhob civil hospital for treatment. Because there are no health facilities. During polio campaign the teams do not reach their targeted areas. They merely get their TA and DA. There is no check and balance. Several mothers and newborns die every month due to causes related to pregnancy and child birth. Because there is no gynecologist in the entire area”.
